Transcription of letters to a Prof. Ferrari of Rome, an Italian translator of James' work. Written while James was teaching at Stanford (1905-1906), the letters describe the early years of the university and the cultural milieu of the time. He also describes the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, his health, developing intersts, etc.
